Below are the goals for my Foundations of College Writing Course.
For each goal, I've selected work that demonstrates how I addressed that goal during the course,
and explained how, citing specific examples from my work.

Goal
My Work
My explanation
Goal A - Students will be able to compose
for particular audiences and purposes
I will be able to write for a particular audience with a clear purpose without confusing my reader.
I wrote a newspaper article on Marilyn Monroe's death. I wanted to address a broad audience so a newspaper article works best.
Goal B - Students will be able to compose using
language and conventions appropriate to genre
Students will be able to write certain genre using the appropriate language.
In my newspaper article I wanted it to be professional, so I did not se any slang words. I tried to make it sound as professional as possible.
Goal C - Students will be able to read, select, and use

evidence critically to formulate and support arguments
I will be able to make a statement or argument and back it up with details from a source.
We can make clear arguments on a topic with actual reasons/evidence to support it. An example would be in our group discussions when we express how we feel about a certain issue in the book and use evidence in the book to back it up.
Goal D - Students will be able to interpret and compose in

a variety of media and print/non-print genres
I will be able to create an image in someone's head while using voices, movements, and various sounds.
When we act out in class scenes or draw a poster to display an image.
Goal E - Students will be able to describe and apply

appropriate writing processes, both individually

and in collaborative contexts
I will be able to apply different styles of wrting to their own work and to group work
I write my own drafts and rough copies but with with other to improve my work and theirs.
